stunning! what wood is the handle on that finished knife?

marko, you really give me a hard time choosing the handle (old type vs. new type) and the handle material. when i first started looking at your knives, it was clear to me: it had to be ironwood. but now it's ironwood, redwood, koa, walnut, and cocobolo... how should i ever make a decision when you come up with such stunners over and over again???!?!?!?

Work in progress, still need to bring finish on the knife higher and to etch the maker's mark. Saya will get a little lighter once the oil is dried, and should match the handle pretty well. Koa is some of the hardest material to finish/sand (I already mentioned carving). Excuse a low-quality photo taken with a phone.

    Another work in progress.

This is 250mm 52100 Damascus Chevron gyuto with a koa handle and saya. Need to etch the maker's mark and to etch for damascus.

Not a great picture. Better pics will be coming when the knife is finished.
