    A couple of reground and refinished practice knives in 52100.

    225mm suji/long petty/utility, with ho wood handle reground for a left-hand use, select grade poplar saya
    255mm suji with ironwood handle and select grade poplar saya

    My landlord has a stairs building business and they use a lot of poplar. I source my select grade poplar from them. Typically, this kind of poplar has a much denser grain, is heavier and harder, but still a bit easier to carve than maple or walnut (I can offer sayas reasonably priced). You wont' see a typical poplar (little grain figure, light in color, similar to ho wood) used for my sayas.

    Finished this one today as well.

    225mm practice suji/petty/utility in 52100. Hand finished to 400grit. Same grind as on my customs.
