I'll throw the other one in too, if you'd like.
Have no fear about the "other one". No need for lakes, I will tuck it in a sand dune somewhere here in Utah so no one will find it.

Now that you are here, yours is next along with Craig's. Head to shop in 2 hrs. Pics likely tomorrow morning.

The cow horn is beautiful. That's a stunning knife.

The shig is perfect, which goes without saying.

Yes, in that sense, Shigefusa has been my favorite maker and is likely to stay.

The ironwood handle looks like the kind of handle that is a perfect compliment to a well-formed patina.

To be honest, this ironwood handle would go well with any steel in any finish. The quality of this wood is amazing. The person who commissioned it, has a soft spot (and a stash) for ironwood and the wood I got from him was all excellent.

    Here we go
The handle for a gyuto is spalted ironwood. There is a section on a second handle where wood figure is reminiscent of a random damascus pattern, so it matches well damascus clad suji it is for.

    I have a handle! Wooo!

Glad you like it. Will install handle today and take pics with the knife. It will compliment the knife well, I think.
