    It is tough to tell by the small photo about the handle material.
    It might be Koa, but I am thinking it is probably Tasmanian Blackwood (an Australian cousin to koa).

    Yep Mark you hit it right on the head. It is tasmanian black wood. The bolsters are 416 ss pinned and soldered in place.
