:shocked3: Black Oak that is.
This is a Black Oak Bunion I just slabbed.
The coloring is a lot different than the usual stuff.

I thought for a second you were referring to Body Odor!

So you had to check it out?
You are a strange one El Pescador. (did I say that out loud?)
:shocked3:
Just teasing you.
I love this emoticon, forgive me if I overuse it.

Cool! I want some
It will be quite a while before this is dry.
Oak likes to move a lot during drying but I should be able to salvage some blocks.

Looks like I scored access to two premium wood blocks today, I discovered several boxes of handle blanks yesterday that I had forgotten about - and I still want some of that :) To be honest, the more I look at it, the more I think about a nice small table rather than cutting it up.

I am afraid the big slab I gave to the furniture guys is going to end up cupping a lot when it dries.
When that happens it becomes a pre-form for chair backs.

I am going to cut my 2 slabs into blocks and baby them through the drying process.
Then it's off to K&G. This was some of the most unusual colors I have seen in black oak.

Furniture? I look at the slabs and see Australian Wagyu (more distinct marbling). Mmm... Wagyu.
