Does anyone have any experience with the ******** Artifex for sale on CKTG? It's currently out of stock, but a 240mm gyuto is coming. It's AEB-L steel (opinons on this?). A very reasonably priced knife if it performs well.
 
Check over at Fred's. JMBullman just did a nice, favorable review. If I got one, I think I'd have him do the first thinning/sharpening, which is (or at least used to be) an option when you buy it.
 
Yeah, I'm sure it's an option and James is cool guy who really loves what he does.

Yup, there was a sharpening option listed on the site (for extra $15). Sorry, I don't know what you mean by "Fred's". Still kinda new here.
