    Hello from Vancouver, honing junkie here

    Hello all,

    I'm a pastry cook here in Vancouver, and my addiction to steel really took off on my first trip to Japan. I bought a couple of knives and a stone, and learned a lot about honing-- I pretty much wrecked my first knife, a Global vegetable cutter (I don't miss it). Don't worry, my Japanese blades didn't take the brunt of my newbie skills

    I started getting into straight razors the past couple of years and have been enjoying it quite a bit, but noticed I've been neglecting my knives.. So I want to start getting into knife sharpening and maintenance again.
