I have a set of Watanabe's that i use in my kitchen. All of the knives have a plastic ferrule d handles, so i figured i would replace them in my free time, and here is the first. It is a 165 Deba with mango and blackwood, nothing fancy...Yet :D

Nice clean handle, Mike. I'd say don't make the ferrule any shorter relative to the overall length of the handle.

I think the ferrule length is fine, but the handle could be shorter and slightly stouter. Deba handles are shorter and thicker, compared to other type knives handles. Nice work overall.

Here is the second. It is an unknown 300mm yanagi wrapped in Curly Walnut burl, Curly maple and african blackwood.

Nice handle, Mike! That pic makes the grind on the yanagiba look pretty funky... Or maybe it IS really funky.
