My gratitude to all contributors/posters for the enjoyment and knowledge I gathered from this forum in the last 6 months.
1. Can an edge be narrower than an atomic carbide (molecular structure) width? Let's ignore 'practical edge & matrix material' and assumed no carbides aggregation and perfect carbide density & distribution.
2. Friable carbide? If C,Cr,V,T,Co...carbide strongly held in super strong (hard & flex) matrix, can it be shear off by diamond or cbn?
For blade with high vanadium carbides (e.g. s30v, m4, ...) I found edge honed&polished by diamond/cbn is sharper and has better retention than alumina+CrO strop. <= reasons for questions 1 & 2.
