Also known as a gyuto/deba. A good heavy duty knife for cutting meat with bones, breaking down the Thanksgiving turkey and splitting lobsters. Can probably also be used to cut down the occasional sapling.
The spine measures 5.2 mm above the heel and it weighs 353 g.
Not quite NIB, as it has been used twice to cut apart a rack of BBQ ribs. The OOTB edge was more than sufficient so it has not been sharpened or stropped. No patina to speak of.
