Just finished re handle on Western Yoshikane SLD 240 mm Gyuto
I thought with black KU knife, Dark Bog Oak will fit very nicely with all that teksture and dark patterns :D

I will also make saya for it and it go up for sale in my store :D

When you put it up for sale you may want to mention the magical properties of bog oak.

I also really like Bog Oak. It is subfossile wood of oak trees, the one i have on that knife is black and should be the oldest you can get 1700 years or more. I really love the texture it have.

How heavy is that bog oak? Does it affect the balance at all?

Are you doing a unique wood saya?
 
Yes i try to match the saya too, will not be of bog oak, to expensive :scared4:
It is not heavy at all, actually very light wood. So balance is as it was before, on the blade.
