tried a butt cap on the western handle.

Black ash burl, mokume, black paper micarta butt cap, bubble wrap with 3-V core.

Thanks for looking.

I like the butt cap. I havent seen 3V used in a kitchen knife before. What would you compare it to?

3-V was made for toughness and wear resistance. 8 ouy of 10 for both toughness and wear resistance. Fine grain and carbide size. Semi stainless.

No pic, but the end of the handle has a mokume Corby bolt.

I would compare 3V to some kind of cross between a rock and glue.

Hey, I'm a doctor :D Do you have my address? ;)

I generally am not a western fan, but that knife is very nice.
