I was fortunate enough to be around the forum, when he was one of the moderators. While his work rightly gets a lot of attention. He was a great moderator. Willing to freely share his vast knowledge on Japanese knives. Plus he was incredibly generous. A member somehow broke a knife, out of frustration. Fish asked the member to send him the pieces. A few months later, the member got a box in the mail, that had a honesuki in it. Fish had reground and rehandled the knife, all at no charge to the member. He always seemed to be doing things for the people on the forum. He was and still is quite the inspiration.
