The first batch of the bog oak that I showed in the previous photos is at K&G being stabilized.
I was very impressed with the quality of the wood so I ordered a larger batch.
    They arrived today.

Now off to K&G to get these stabilized too.

As soon as the 1st batch comes back from K&G I will make a post here.
I am guessing about 2 weeks away.

Most people use bog oak without getting it stabilized.
But I figured this stuff was worth investing a little money into having it stabilized.
I look at the stabilizing like an insurance policy.
Plus it makes it so the wood will take a better finish.

OK, I'm sold. Who here makes D-handles so far?? Mike will experiment for me in palm, who else? My Masamoto ho is looking downright sad compared to some of the woods I've seen here lately...

I am afraid to see how much these will be posted for.

Looks great, Mark! Great alternative to some of the other dark woods.

Hey, what just happened? I looked on your site, Mark, and I see that you posted some bog oak, but they're all sold? Was I not invited to the party?
