I definitely agree. After my first custom handle, I instantly knew I preferred the lighter feel and less flashy look of plain old ho-wood handles. Call me crazy, but it works for me.

Are there any more practice knives on the horizon Marko?

These are ready-made and could be offered without handles. They are rough finished, so final finish (to 800 grit) and maker mark is to follow.
They are to be offered at $1.25/mm vs $1.75/mm if come with custom handles.
52100, 62-63RC, Heat treated for best balance of sharpness and wear resistance (latest HT).
Measurements are on the blades. All blades are under .8mm, 10 mm above the edge, so quite thin. Full thickness at the spine at the handle, so no flex in the first 1/3 of the blade on the suji, and almost no flex on petties.
2x180mm petties
1x260mm thin suji
1x150mm petty is being finished up grinding (not in the picture)

Awesome! That thin suji is beautiful!

A quick clarification on the pricing:
A ready-made or custom will have the latest heat treatment (quite elaborate heat treatment process that includes cryogenic treatment, hardness testing), and knives were tested in a pro kitchen before this HT was offered. It has a good balance of sharpness and wear resistance, the later being better than on any of my previous HTs. The knife will get very sharp and hold the edge very well.
This is my forth grind, and I feel it offers the best performance from all I tried. It took a long time to arrive at it, and it is also quite labor intensive, but it gives a rigid feel to a knife, while the blade is relatively thin and light, and the blade cuts exceptionally well.
All blades are hand finished to a fine, satin-like finish to 800 grit. Fairly labor intensive process, giving the hardness (and increased wear resistance) of the steels I am working with.
My goal has always been to make performance knives see Here, and no knife leaves the shop (practice or custom) unless it fits into this category. I hope this will be clarified during and after the upcoming pass-around.
