    Marko,

Received my 225 today and have to say I am impressed! Thanks so much for this opportunity, can't wait to get a handle on this one and put it to use!

Have a great time and a relaxing trip, you deserve it!

Should have added that the felt strop has totally sweetened this deal to no end. It is put together very well and is a perfect size--can't wait to put it to use!

I finally got to go over the PMs and posts in this thread to come up with a list for folks who contacted me about practice knives. It looks like all practice knives are bespoken and I will be contacting folks shortly. If any knives become available, I will re-list them here.

Sorry for dragging my feet with these.

    Thanks,

    M

PS: I got a bit of a cold toward the end of my vacation and it developed into a full-blown cold once I came back. Today is the first day that I feel a bit better. There is nothing worse than to wear a respirator when you are constantly sneezing and have a difficulty breathing because of a congestion.

We're going to need to see a doctor's note Mr. Tsourkan.
Or we would if you didn't work in your own personal factory . . .

    Well,
I think I feel well enough to work a full day tomorrow. Today I did some polishing only.

Visits to the "factory" are welcome. Just bring your own respirator.

These ready-made knives are available for sale. From top to bottom:

    275mm gyuto in 52100
    235mm gyuto in 19C27
    240mm gyuto in 19C27
    210mm gyuto in A2
200mm gyuto in DT bubble-wrap san mai damascus - not etched yet.
    All are in 62-63RC range.

Knives are only rough-finished and will require more work.

    Price per/mm
    DT damascus - $3.75
    19C27 & A2 - $1.75
52100 - $2 (this large a knife is much harder to grind and hand finish, hence a surcharge)

Prototype honesuki is offered at $250 with a handle (it will be shortened) and I will shorten the blade as well. Steel is 52100 and it is a true single-beveled knife with a hollow back. I decided on a different profile, so this knife will be sold as a prototype (though I will make some improvements before I send it out)

Prices include cocobolo handles except for DT damascus, it will come with a snakewood handle. Sale of DT damascus gyuto is conditional on a successful etch.

Knives are ground for a good balance in rigidity (there will be very little flex, mostly in the 1/3 area at the tip), thinness, wear resistance and edge retention. They will release food well. These would make good cutters.

All come with 7 days satisfaction guaranty.

    Thanks for looking.

    M
