My wife wanted me to get a couple of bottle stoppers that you use to re-cork a wine bottle from the store.
Since we had the hardware for bottle stoppers here at work I made a couple instead.

They are both Maple burl. One with the natural burl surface on top, the other with fossil ivory. Next time I will use a little more dramatic wood, but I thought these looked ok.

Those look great!

Definitely the au'naturel one for the tequila.

Looks good. This project may turn out like the chopsticks, you will need to make about fifty more.

My boss already asked me to make a couple dozen for the gallery.
We used to have an old retired guy who came here for wood. After a while we started trading wood for bottle stoppers.
They would sell quickly but I thought they looked like Christmas ornaments. He's not around anymore so the boss got a bunch of the hardware thinking someone around here would make them. Looks like I got elected.
