    Ironwood chopsticks SUCK



    I always wanted to make a pair for myself and after Mark posted all those beauty's he made I had a go at some ironwood and bog oak scraps.I need to try some different wood

    Mostly you need to pay closer attention to the grain direction, I think!

    Had something similar happen to a cherry sheath I made the other day.

    I haven't had much luck with other than straight grain wood with the grain running the length of the sticks.

    Or, you could drill a hole the length of the stick and reinforce the stick with a dowel.

    Wow, you never know what you will lean when cruising around the boards. That is some serious coin for chopsticks.
