I will start by showing you my 300mm kikuichi suji I just finished converting from western to wa.
I used a piece of spalted sycamore I picked up from Mark at Burl Source.
I almost forgot to take a before picture.
Here is the finished product, the black spacer is a piece of ebony from the original scales on the knife.
