How to get that shine back

So I sharpened by kono hd and used a black sharpie and the marker has "highlighted" very minor scratches that were not visible before. Nail polish remover did not help. Can you give me suggestions on how to shine up the entire blade. Also, I need something that is safe for carbon as well. Thanks.

Maybe try scrubbing with BKF or Comet, I use either regularly; Metal-Glo was mentioned as being good also. Just try to rub in the direction of the grain to avoid new scratch marks.
