Hi All I made these for the Norwegian and I thought that you all wouldn't mind seeing some pictures. I only had to turn about a cord of wood into sawdust to get this made. Wasn't too dad after I figured out that you can't heat and beat wood

thanks Kalaeb, It was kinda fun and recalled some old skills that were underdeveloped to begin with and unused for the last thirety five years. all things considered, I think the box turned out pretty good.
 
My god no wonder you went through so much wood. So beautiful. Great work on getting the subtle colors to pop with other woods, great eye.
 
I'm thinking that I need to redo the finish to a high gloss so that it pops even more. My problem is that I am not a fan of high gloss finish. what's the concensus here?
