I ordered some mammoth ivory scales to do a laminate handle. When the scales arrived they were extremely asymmetrical and I was a bit disappointed. So I epoxied up the scale anyway and decided to shape the facets uneven and wonky.I tried hard to make it look like I did not try hard:scratchhead: Please let me know what think. Thanx

Gives it character. As mammoth ivory is organic in nature, I don't expect it to be perfectly uniform; you have a true custom. Good job!

Hax the Cook CLEAVERS RULE!!! :D

Sweet looking handle - almost built in right, or left hand bias.

Looks good to me. What are your plans for this one ???

I'm fine with that handle! if your customer doesn't like it, I'll take it:D

Very nice, love the contrast. I did that with bone scales a while ago and thought it was neat. Is that a bog oak ferrule?

I think it's cool looking. Is it a little chubby?

Thanx!! Yes it is chubby, but it's small. It should work well with the HHH dammy gyuto-hiki I will be making soon.

Call it art and charge more money.

I like it.
