About 100 lbs of wood came back from getting stabilized today.
It's all Red or Black.
save a piece of the red for me!
"So you want to be a vegetarian? Hitler was a vegetarian and look at how he turned out."
Holy bejesus! That black maple is stunning!!! I have been away too long...
When is it going on the website Mark??? Lustful - er - I mean inquiring minds want to know.
I am happy with how the blocks are looking so far.
These are some of the Maple burl dyed black.
They are all the same type of wood and dyed in the same batch,
but they all look different from each other.
Next are some of the Redwood Burl.
This was second growth burl growing on an old growth stump.
Around the late 1800s a lot of the ancient redwoods were logged in Northern California.
On some of the undeveloped land there are still giant stumps standing.
This Redwood came from live burl that was growing on one of those old stumps.
Lots more metallic flash or chatoyance than I normally see with Redwood burl.
I will start adding these to the web store tomorrow.
those dyed blocks are sweet. Now I must resist.
Chewie's the man.
