These are some stabilized Spalted Maple blocks I just added to the store.
Really Good flamed figure and Really Strange coloring. I like them, but I like the strange stuff.
This is some Oregon Maple that had very good figuring. The log laid out in an old rock quarry for years exposed to the elements. A fellow I know grabbed the log thinking it might be something I would like. When I cut it up I found that the spalting had created all kinds of unusual coloring and the wood was still really solid. So I cut it into blocks and had it stabilized by K&G.
This is how it turned out.
