Does anyone know about Hiyoshimaru yanagis?
i was reading the book "Japanes kitchen knives" and saw a pic of this beautiful honyaki yanagi made, according to the author by Hiyoshimaru. My Google-fu didn't get me anywhere. Does anyone know anything about these knives?

Hiyoshimaru is a kitchen knife retailer based in Tokyo
It seems they use craftsmen from Sakai for most of their products.

Thanks Sara!
this is the knife, any chance the Kanji can give us more information?

I tried to improve the legibility a little bit

I can read the kanji on the blade easily, but when it comes to pronunciation I can only be sure about "Sakai Ichimonji" but the latter part is not 100%. My best guess to read it is as "Tadakuni Saku". I'm not sure which retailer owns this particular branding/logo though. Once again, this confirms me that the products come from Sakai, but who carries or holds patent of this particular branding are unknown.

it sure is! it also is a good answer for the thread from a while back asking how much distal taper yanagis should have.
