Flattening a cutting board
Hey guys, I got a BoardSmith cutting board and i friggen love it. After a years worth of use, i got spots where my usuba doesn't want to cut carrots or things with a skin. My usuba has it's set of faults but I understand how to work those out.
The board on the other hand is the flagship monster that Mr Smith sells. How do i flatten it and make sure I get it flat? What equipment should I invest in if needed?
Send it back to me after 1/1 and I will resurface it.
Otherwise you will need: 4 x 24 belt sander, 60 grit belt, 80 grit belt, 100 grit belt and a ROS with some 100 and 120 grit paper. And, the biggie, an eraser to unclog the sandpaper. You can try a cabinet scraper but the learning curve is a little steep and if you aren't careful you may gouge the surface. And then you will need to learn how to sharpen the scraper to make it effective.
Easier to just send it back to the shop.
