    New Guy from NoVa

Hello. My name is Bill. I recently decided to join the forum after ordering my first Japanese Knife, a Shigefusa kurouchi nakiri, from Maxim at JNS. I've been a customer of Maxim's for a while having ordered stones for my straight razors from him, and see a few familiar names from other forums I participate in.

All that said, I'm looking forward to learning all that I can here. I was drawn to the Japanese knives for three reasons: (1) my Japanese wife has taught me an appreciation for the quality, skill and craftmanship that the Japanese put into their handmade products; (2) my wife cooks a lot of traditional Japanese foods and likes the consistent, thinly cut ingredients that I am hoping the very fine edges to quality knives will help us get more readily; and (3) I enjoy cooking and like to have good quality materials to use when I do so...
