Just noticed a Fish handled takeda cleaver for sale at the old forum. Must resist buying, but the pictures were worth looking at. Even know im contemplating emptying my money box to see if I have enough

wow that is a big pic. was thinking of porting the pic over but after seeing a better pic of the kid than the knife I thought not. For a fish handle it's kinda plain. But still a looker.

Enormous pics!!! he's got a Nenox gyuto for sale too. In those pics you can see his wife and another kid or two as well!
sorry to go OT
Nice knives though. I would love to have that cleaver.

Here's the Fish Takeda pic at a reasonable size. Kowabunga!

Thanks, I looked but couldn't find the knife in the mass of jpg/bmp...that is one gorgeous cleaver!

Good thing he's only shipping within the US or I'd be all over.

Dunno if it's just the pic, but it looks a little short (spine to edge) for the large takeda, maybe it's just stretched.

Menkiribocho rather than chuka? - edge looks too curved though... may be as a result of reprofiling?. Unless it's just distortion in the pic.

as large as that pic was I would say distortion.

I questioned him about it and told him that I have Andys Takeda Large and the handle looked a lot like mine and if he was sure it was a Fish handle, maybe a reground blade, but sure enough, not a Fish handle, and the noodle cleaver. $500 is kinda steep though IMO.

Sorry but sales promotions are not allowed in this section. They belong in the BST.

Welcome to the forum antbanks! Hang out, relax, have fun, gl with the sale...hopefully somebody buys it before I do... :D unfortunately there is no Takeda AD specialists in my town, and I really cannot afford that right now for at least a few weeks (blasted bedroom set). Its a beautiful knife and I hope I didnt sound mean, just overly exicted about steel that has a bad attitude and a dark personality and it was andys fault I fell into the cleaver trap in the first place.

Just curiously, how many of you are members on the KF fourm? Just wondering if it makes sense to post the knives I have for sale here as well or if most of you are on both forums anyways. I did notice that I am not able to post pictures when I registered, is that still the case? Anyways, thanks for the warm welcome and look forward to being a member here as well!

You should just hang out here in general. Mostly because its waaaaaaaaay cooler;) And welcome btw.

Thanks brainsausage, that's funny! Having been a member for a few days I have noticed that there seems to be more international members here and more/better knives available for sale. Do you have a general feeling about how many people here are members on KF or are members only here because it is waaaay better

I think there is a good amount of people that you'd recognize here from the old forum.

I do recognize more than a few, and I never actually took part in the old forum. Just viewed from afar. I will say that this is hands down the best version of a 'community' that I've experienced in a very long time. Both in, and out of the interwebs. Lots of straight up, honest, decent people on here.

Yeah anthony, post here enough and youll get under my skin so far to where I will buy your cleaver for sure :) Man, tonight was a great cleaver night at work. Broke down a huge box of acorn squash for autumn pasta with the Large. Felt so good. And I get to wave the cleaver at the servers to help them remember whos working the line tonight lol. They all leave nice tips.

Most of what makes this forum so great is the participation. I can read all the new post for a day at kf in < 5 min, here....well sometimes its hard to keep up.

Wait- TIPS!?! I'm on the wrong coast apparently...

Heck yeah, Ive never worked a kitchen job where I didnt get at least something for tips. This place Im at right now is decent. When I was chef at Market Grill at Pikes Place Market, I was typically making more that I did in wages in tips. The worst tippers were the ones which made the most, and it was at a fancy wine/ beer place I worked at and they gave me $1/hour, but always complained if each didnt walk out with $250 a night, many times on Saturday night pulling $500 and giving me an extra couple bucks, those bastards!. Servers make ridiculous money, but I couldn't do the whole kiss@$$ thing for a living. I like telling people how it is and how its going to be...politely of course.

i like the way you think.

=D

i hate folks that just go behind your back and say crap about you. if there's a problem tell me, and maybe it can be fixed.

I tried to post the knives for sale here and it say that I do not have permission to do so. Any idea why? Do I need a different level of membership?

I believe you can purchase knives when new, but need 50 posts to be able to sell.
