Picked up this Charles Paris Nogent. Plenty of life left on this one. 13 inch blade length, with a 3” belly. Traditional nogent style. The handle appears to be stained beech since it didn’t darken like ebony usually does when I soak the handle in mineral oil. Has a nice taper, so it’s surprisingly light compared to my other 12”-14” lobster splitter type knives.

Coincidentally, I just found a similar Charles "Paris" nogent at an estate sale. Mine has additional markings indicating that it was made by M&H Co. New York. The blade is 12" long, belly 2-1/4", and overall length 17". It has an ebony handle (maybe) with a silver ferrule. I don't own the knife in the last pic, but wanted to include it as a better example of the manufacturing mark.

Anybody have any information on M&H Co.

My guess would be M&H isn't the maker but the retailer, as the country of origin is mentioned as legally required. Quite common to have the retailer's name on Sabs.
