    Knife findings

You are making a few baseless assumptions. Customers control knife prices, not the maker, not the distributer. There are no quality issues on the knives he sells, if he wants to cut his profits on some items for marketing purpose that is entirely up to him.

You can't increase prices and decrease quality. Or you could for a very short period of time on a popular product. In the world of good communication and many, many alternatives this scenario is not sustainable. But what about TF, TF since we need to mention TF in every thread. Well, there must...

    WTB Cool Suji

Cladding is stainless, core is semi stainless, some version of skd12(A2) class steel.

    What Camping/EDC to get?

You picked a very good knife. Spyderco knives are good in general and their k390 is excellent. Great company too.

do you prefer aogami #1/#2 to aogami super in a pro kitchen?

I am sure the OP figured it out in the 11 years since the thread was started. I would bet you won't be able to tell the difference in use, especially in a suji, between blue 1 and blue super if geometry was the same and hardness was similar.

It sounds like you haven't used these knives or they just absolutely don't work for you, which is odd since most can adapt to many different knives. They are not bad the 8" is a bit goofy in the profile, but even that is not badly balanced and the handle is comfortable in pinch grip for many...

My feelings exactly. You are paying a lot for a polishing job, which I am sure is great, but not for a knife that will be used. Same for mirror polished honyaki. As art pieces, definitely, but that's a different paradigm and the price is truly what someone is willing to pay.

    Recommendations for 240 PM gyuto?

Hap-40 could probably handle "Pro" sharpeners better, but belt sander can overheat any steel. If you can find a sukenari hap-40 blade only that could be good. Or find one with simple handle and replace.

what are you shooting? (handgun thread)

Beautiful!😍 Bore condition is excellent too. I am sorry I didn’t buy a few when I had the chance and especially the m/41 snipers and CG 63 300m competition rifles when they were available and reasonably priced. I still have a 1941 m/38 though.

Stiffest thin knives you ever used

If the geometry is the same and core steel is same as mono steel and heat treated the same you won’t be able to tell the difference especially in a petty.

    WTS Red Flags on BST

The guy was jumped on right away and called a scammer. True enough he could do all you say and resolve the issue, but I could also understand being apprehensive after being called out without real reason as far as he is concerned. In all cases though if something doesn’t feel right for any...

Does anyone check their knives with Bess scores?

Would pressing on the end of the handle slowly with one finger be better than using full grip? Seems like it would be more difficult to cheat that way, but maybe not doable?

    Maybe?

what are you shooting? (handgun thread)

The argument works in the case of suppressors in the US for two reasons. First like you’ve correctly pointed out since most states allow them limiting them in some states is pointless as far as keeping them out of hands of criminals is concerned. Similar to other limitations on certain features...
