this has 24kt gold inlays and spine.
this one has what I call twin rivers Damascus, it is one billet split for a feather twice.
I believe the one you bought at the Sydney show with the carved handle is the first integral san mai blade I ever made. It is also quite possibly one of the coolest knives I have ever made.
this is actually a modification of my river of fire pattern made special for David and the pictures don't do the handle justice imho.

I don't have any pictures but if memory serves, the spine is about .115 above the heal with a full distal taper to about .025 at the tip. full grind to 0 edge .015-.020, 1/2 inch behind the edge.
like I said this is from memory so I could be off on these but they are also pretty standard...
