    Stropping type and efficacy

No reason, I just like the history behind it. Polishing "rouge" is term that has it's roots in a different and interesting past. Kind of like how the capital of Louisiana is called "Red Stick", or how the "starboard" side of a ship got it's name from how they used to be steered with a board. As...

    Stropping type and efficacy

Yeah I remember those days. There was a whole thing about the colouring pigments in the ink. For example - red and white ink is sometimes made from the same stuff as polishing compounds. - Correction fluid copolymer visualized under scanning electron microscopy (SEM)

    working acids for etching/rust removal?

Yeah, drying oil seems like a good idea, but it's not a requirement by any stretch. I would go a drying oil for the first coat, giving it plenty of time to cure. Then if you want you could go over it again with a non-drying oil. Here's the rust bluing oil process. The whole video is worth a...

    working acids for etching/rust removal?

I might have an answer to this... I've thought about this problem in the past and wanted to see if the science is true. So I purposefully rusted the hell out of a KU knife with the plans to "fix" it. Never got around to doing it, but the knife is still rusty. Will try it now and report back soon...

your take on natural drugs: weed, shrooms, ayahuasca, cactcii and so on.

Nah the sleeping pills just knock you out. Have you ever been fully under for surgery? It's like that - You wake up afterwards and have a hole in time that your brain has nothing to fill. Hardly an overload of the mind, more of a quiet shutdown. Maybe @Nemo can get involved in this, he might...

    Question regarding oiling

I don't think this has been mentioned yet, so I'll add it to the thread. All of the oils mentioned above will fall into one of two main categories: Drying oil Non-drying oil ________________________________ @domgro has been using a drying oil - boiled linseed - which hardens into a...

Yeah that was me. Completely sober at the time. I wasn't aware of a particular danger in my technique. I have since changed my method. Gore warning It's all grown back now.

    Stock Removal Distal Taper

Thanks! If you've never made a knife before, I suggest the first knife you create should be something small like a petty. It will give you a solid foundation to base your future questions and improvements on. Because it's not large, you'll spend less time on each step, allowing you to more...

But there are some upsides to the same feeling, namely that your time on Earth is a finite commodity: It's valuable, worth investing in and spending wisely. I've been on a few acid trips with my brother. He had a horrendous ego death... from his point of view, but it was entertaining for me! We...
