Seasoned Wok - Does This Look Right?

It seems like just a bit too much oil. I wouldn't bother doing anything other than cooking with it. Usually if you left some factory coating on, a paper towel will wipe up with some black stuff instead of just oil/nothing.

Question about seasoning a carbon steel pan

my weird egg-and-carbon steel thing is that it seems to not stick really well if i use cooking spray rather than straight up oil or butter or whatever. no idea why.

240+ Knives and 1k Stones Are Hivemind Hype!

Having now used ~200, 240, 270, I feel like my most comfortable width is somewhere between 200 and 240. Can't say exactly why, just what feels comfortable and functional. Probably 225-230 range but it requires trying more knives I suppose. My most commonly used knife these days is a 240, but...

    Unpopular opinions

I've never bought from BST or sold from it. There are many people who seem to do so regularly, and likely plenty of good, solid transactions with no misleading from the buyers. However, there have also been scams -- some identified and taken down, some not, and lying. To me, the most likely...

    Unpopular opinions

I think BNIB is likely just rife with dishonesty. Not knowing who to trust and who not to as a newer user, I just distrust any claim of BNIB in BST.

KitchenKnifeForums: A Boulevard of Broken BST

As someone relatively new to this forum and who doesn't post much, but looks at BST out of curiousity fairly frequently (though have never bought or sold) I think it's fairly likely that many claims of "like new" "never sharpened" "BNIB" are: 1. Frequently not true 2. Unverifiable Banning...

Best Carbon Steel frying pan brand to make eggs in?

I like Matfer just because I prefer the metal handles to the De Buyer weird material ones, but they're both great
