    Black Friday Cyber Monday

Yea, lesson learned. I stuck between not looking every hour because I shouldn't buy anything and compulsively looking because Im going to find something. Good to know I'm not the only one with those hopes. lol I'm still regret not buying the one you had sitting on bst for way too long.

    Recommend a stainless KS-profile gyuto

How about one of these? Has anyone tried one? I understand it’s not quite a ks but looks similar to the Sukenari. Guessing the grind would be great...

The 8hrs was a joke. I use a sp220 to thin. I think it’ll probably be more than 30mins. I’ve thinned quite a few knives on it before but never so far up in the grind or so thick before. I’m sure it won’t be too painful but we’ll see.

Speaking of which I was in my local hardware store looking for sandpaper. When they asked me what it was for I told them I needed it for sharpening my knives. They laughed at me and then told me "you know we sharpen knives here." I told them I know because I can hear it from down the block...

Thank you 🙏 I plan to leave the blade road uneven as well so that I can add in TF inspired into the BST title.

I think the person I traded with bought the knife from someone off Reddit. And was told it was sharpened once. He said he also sharpened once. Is he telling the truth, I don’t know. Is he just trying to pass along something he got screwed with, maybe. Is there the chance that he just didn’t know...

No I don't think youre missing much. Limited selection but good deals for some. They carry the Munetoshi for cheaper than anywhere else I've seen. Shiro Kamo seems to be a bit cheaper too.

Yea that's where I bought my Munetoshi. The prices are listed with vat so you take 20% of listed price and then 15% off that makes for a hell of a deal on a few of their knives. I believe shipping is $30-$40.

Lol. No issue with the seller. But @ian I thought you would have some wise words of advice! When do I start to add in convexity? Is it something I have to take into account while doing the heavy thinning or added in after?
