SOLD Marko Tsourkan knife mag strip

Thanks for everyone's interest; this strip is sold. I don't know how to mark this thread as Sold, so if I mod can help, I'd appreciate it. Additionally, I've just listed my other Tsourkan strip, at a lower price. See https://www.kitchenknifeforums.com/threads/marko-tsourkan-knife-mag-strip-2.39515/

WTS Marko Tsourkan knife mag strip (#2)

After selling my new Tsourkan mag strip, I've decided to sell my other strip, too. It is very lightly used, for a month, and is still in great condition. The wood is cherry, and the back side measures 25 7/8" long, 2 7/8 tall, 1 1/8 thick. The faceplate measures 24 11/16 x 1 7/8. There are three...

SOLD Marko Tsourkan knife mag strip

I apologize---based on our conversation, I thought you'd decided to get a mag strip made locally because shipping costs to Ireland would be prohibitive (approximately $65)

Final bump before I withdraw the mag strip. Available and ready to ship, to beat the Christmas package jungle.

SOLD Marko Tsourkan knife mag strip

I'm guessing that international postage rates will be prohibitively expensive, but I'll confirm tonight when I return home. In what country are you located?

SOLD Marko Tsourkan knife mag strip

I purchased this knife strip from Marko but moved soon afterwards and never had room to install it, so its brand new. The wood is cherry, and it measures 25 6/8" long, 2 7/8 tall, 1 3/16 thick. Not trying to make a profit---I'm selling for less than I paid for it; $160+$25 s/h. I'll happily...

    Mag strip strength?

No, it was hand-crafted, and more than double the cost of Mag-blok strips. At that price, I was expecting a well-crafted product that would perfectly hold each knife securely, instead of acting like an autonomous guillotine. Are my expectations out of line?

    Mag strip strength?

I just purchased a new wall-mounted mag strip. Before hanging it, I tested it by putting a few heavy-ish/long-ish knives on it; they held securely, but it was easy to spin them in place by gently nudging the knife's top or bottom. Furthermore, knives exhibit a tendency to spin toward a...

    Anyone tried VMatter knives?

Thanks for the update, Dave. "Heavy usage" is relative, so it's great to hear a professional chime in. Actually, I googled this site for hits before I posted my query, and I didn't see any earlier conversations. Hrm. Maybe I'll have to work on my search skills, too.

    Anyone tried VMatter knives?

How did you test the edge retention? From the review which I linked in the OP (from a source which I usually trust), the edge seemed to last a superlatively long time. Did you notice an abrupt drop off in sharpness after just a few tests, or was your experience more in-depth? Perhaps the...

Has anyone tried VMatter knives yet? Seems like a decent review from the kitchenboy blog.

Where in Australlia to buy cookware(restaurant supply house recomendation)

While it's not based in Australia, I've found that berondi.com has wonderful prices on Demeyere and the shipping is relatively cheap---i had a set sent to the US from Germany, and even including shipping it was $200+ less expensive than buying from a local u.s. merchant. (Forget that all-clad...

    Poor Mans Kato?

Yes, good point. From earlier posts, I presumed the OP wanted something custom. It's very easy to order a stock knife from Watanabe.
