I turned my Migaki to Kasumi 😉

The knife that I was trying to fix had seen better days. Had to do major thinning and the core steel had rust. Also replaced the D shape handle to Octagonal which the owner wanted. I literally just finished it now.

When I saw both. It looks the same but I think the Kasumi is a bit thicker.

Thanks! I knew this was a Sanjo knife. SKD was stamped on the tang.

Restoring this knife…Don’t know what brand it is but it’s a SKD steel.

I really wanted to add this to my ginsan collection and the Kasumi version but the price on the damascus is holding me back for some reasons. One day I might just pull the trigger.

Just finished installing my custom handle. New Knife Day 5 out of 6 with New Custom handle from @JoBone . Takada No Hamono (Kamata version) Ginsan Suiboku 240mm Gyuto with custom Purple Dyed Curly Maple with Black and Gold Tru stone Space and bottom cap with Gold Rings.
