    WTS: Shobodani Asagi

For sale a nice Shobodani Kuro Asagi. Lvl 4-4.5 hardness. It will auto slurry a little with some pressure. The stone feels very smooth and cuts fast. It leaves bright finish on jigane and reveals the grainy structure of hagane very well. The stone has no lines or cracks and it is sealed with...

    Aoto , Iwatani

Iwatani SOLD. Aoto still available. It is a great stone that produces a very nice cutting edge, perfect to follow up a 1k stone and not go higher. Hard Aoto are not that common.

    Aoto , Iwatani

    1. For sale a big hard Aoto that I got from Japan. The stone does not auto slurry very easy, though slurry can easily be made with a hard tomonagura or well used diamond plate. It will easily remove 1k scratches and will leave a very nice contrasted finish on traditional blades. The stone is...

    FS: Nakayama and Narutaki stones

    1. Nakayama Kiita [208x75x34 mm (above the dais)], lvl 4-4.5. This is a very fine and fast cutting stone (especially on slurry). It produces a great edge on stainless and carbon steels. The stone is fitted with a dais, and is sealed. The stone has a stamp "Shohonzan" on one of the small faces...

Hakka #2 also can be used after 1k, with heavy slurry , it is slower than the Ohira though.

That is correct guys, the Ohira @ $300 is 150 bucks below what it cost me 4 years ago . That Ohira will take 1k edge and refine it in not time, that is the beauty of suita stones, they are fast. The remaining hakka is very cheap for the size, and is a very nice and fine stone.

I have not used the any of the stone on single bevel knives. Hakka 1 was my go to sharpening stone for touch ups, it is medium fine stone, makes mud pretty easy, but not as much as an aoto for example. Hakka 2 is finer and harder stone. It produces some slurry and cuts fast for how hard it is...
