    Griddle Utensils

These look pretty good. I don’t need to break the bank, just looking for something of a little better quality than what I have.

    Griddle Utensils

So last year I was on the hunt for a new outdoor grill. We moved into a new house the year prior, brought our older Weber with us and knew it needed to be upgraded but just wasn’t in the cards that first year. While I was researching what I wanted, I came across outdoor griddles. Did more...

    Show your newest knife buy

My first real knife, Lew Griffin 225mm gyuto. His photo and my first attempts, smudges and all. (My first experience taking photos of knives, a bit of a learning curve it seems...)

    First Quality Chef/Gyuto Knife Help

Using it pretty often. It is pretty reactive but I typically take care of my things so I’ll try to keep up with it best I can. It’s a vast improvement on my old Shun. Very well balanced for me. Tomatoes, potatoes, onions, peppers, and grilled steak it has had no issues with. Haven’t really...

    First Quality Chef/Gyuto Knife Help

Forgot to add photos after I received it. Probably should have cleaned off the smudges before photos but... Really enjoying it so far.

    Beginner hiking & camping advice

I don’t have anything to add that hasn’t already been said. You’ve been given great advice so far. Like any hobby, the rabbit hole is endless. The gal and I both have professions that require us to more or less be connected at all hours of the day. We get out to the boundary waters in northern...

He’s pretty good about responding to emails. He is typically in town over the winter and parts of spring/fall and summers in the UP. You can check out his website for pricing.

Yes. I have one coming. I would say if you ever thought about getting one, move quickly. He’s at the age where you never know when he’ll hang it up. Frankly, his prices are very reasonable in the custom world. Ask for disc brakes, carbon fork, etc and he might show you the door.

Ha. I wouldn’t be completely opposed to moving it but it wouldn’t be cheap. It currently wears 23 Vittoria Open Corsa Evo SCs, you may be able squeeze some 25s but definitely no bigger. I haven’t tried as I love these tires and Veloflex Masters. It’s an 85 criterium bike though so it was built...

Yep. They share a large warehousing building. Erik is very eccentric in his own right but go see him and he’ll chat you up for an hour about everything. There’s some Kvale in him and I’m sure Chris seen that in him and why he trained him. Erik is a wiz with a torch though. I brought him an...

Kvale is an interesting guy. Genuinely a sweet old man but everything is very much his way or it’s wrong. Ha I don’t think there’s a better builder/painter combo out there though.

Thanks for help guys. What would you say makes a Hattori a good choice? They don’t seem to be as recommended as some others. I could be wrong but just wanted more detail. Appreciate it!

    Hello From Minneapolis

It’s a small space so I wouldn’t go with a larger group. Or if you’re close, order and bring it home. But we’re big fans.

    Hello From Minneapolis

Lurked here for a long time and finally decided to sign up. Getting ready to pull the trigger on a new knife and wanted some ideas. If anyone has any recommendations for food or shops in the metro, feel free to let me know! My favorite place for food is Boludo, a small Argentinian place. The...
