    SOLD Tanaka yohei blue1 - 240mm

This is an awesome knife and one of my favorites. It’s remarkably different from Takada’s other work (Suiboku, Fujiyama FT) but has all of the things that make his work so good. Crazy food release with this and that famous Hitohira finish with Tahei handle. Yoshikazu Tanaka’s Blue 1 needs no...

WTS Two Y Tanaka Damascus ($DROP)

It’s definitely thicker than a lot of Tanaka’s work. I’d say roughly 3.4mm at heel but I don’t have a micrometer.

    Chef backpack suggestions

Hey so I feel like most ppl on here do knife rolls, however I am a fan of the backpack. Issue is my Yanagiba and Sujihiki are 270mm which brings them to about 16” counting the handle (they’re Sakai 270s) limits my choice. My current Chefsac only fits the slicers if you keep them outside of the...

Yes I agree. My ace of my knife rotation is my Nakagawa Blue 2 Suiboku and has the Zebrawood handle. It’s perfect for the Suiboku balance wise. I’m very tempted to put it on the dammy as well, but am nervous about damaging the beautiful handle that’s already on it

I will say both of my 240 Damascus takada knives have a significant enough more height that it makes them heavier than some of my other Takada no Hamono. In my ideal world, one of them would have a Tahei Persimmon handle…. Those handles are my white whale, and they won’t sell them individually...

Never been to Japan. I do have really good relationships with some of the suppliers though. I just got lucky with most of them. Although my first couple I got before the hype. I bought one thinking it’s turn into the Masamoto KS in ‘18. I was right from the get go and the knife didn’t...

Because his knives are too lightweight for Ebony handles they pull the balance back Way too much. My Nakagawa forged regular 240 Suiboku has a Zebrawood handle that is perfect for it. I do worry about how he installs handles because I don’t want to lose these handles. The horns on the 240s...
