Show us your sticks (finished handle projects)...

I would be happy to do that. I am leaving tomorrow for a five week trip to Europe so it would not be until September sometime, if you can wait. I mostly make **** up with the guidance that I found on this forum, but I do have some experience which comes with trial and error. i.e. mistakes...

Show us your sticks (finished handle projects)...

I finished the other two handles that I am considering for the TF in my post four above. Cocobolo and maple; and Ron-Ron, African Blackwood spacer and desert ironwood. I think Ron-ron is a very under rated wood if for no other reason than the translation is Rum- Rum. Since I'm here, I'll post...

Show us your sticks (finished handle projects)...

This my new 195 TF Maboroshi with a handle I made from Cocobolo and maple. The wood I cross-cut out of a piece I had in Costa Rica. I made two handles like this. I'm not sure this handle goes with this blade. I'm working on a couple of other handles and may swap out. This is a temporary install.

What is there to do in San Diego

I agree with most of the recommendations above with some caveats. Depends what you want your vacation to be about and whether you want to rent a car. I wouldn't go to Dana Point (1 hour drive) to watch whales when you could just go to Dana Landing in SD and catch a boat to go whale watching...

I can send you pictures of handles I have made with both as well as photos of the blocks themselves. I...

    FS Yoshikane SKD 240

I'll chime in here too. I have mine at 15 degrees per side and it is a sweet cutter. I'd consider buying this one if I had more money. Nice handle.

    rookie version re-handle walkthrough

I use the Bosch Zirconium sandpaper which seems to take them both down at the same rate. It not, I use a little file about the size of a pencil but flat, that a friend gave me. I think it is meant for woodworking, but does the job on the rivets.

    rookie version re-handle walkthrough

Pierre- find someone with a copy lathe. They can take the brush handles you have and copy it exactly. I use G-Flex and it is 85-95 F all year long where I live. This usually accelerates the failure of glues. I have not had any problems with G-flex. After flattening and cleaning both the...
