$70 shipped
SPF two in line
165mm edge
48mm tall
8mm at spine at heel
4mm spine at shinogi at tip
264g
Lefty deba, feels like great Sakai white steel, bites very very well into hair. Rounded shinogi, especially at heel, buffalo horn ferrule chips, ura wear, at heel the ura flattens out a bit, wasn't ground enough. Good taper of spine to tip, slightly lighter type of deba. Pitting throughout. Chip from pitting near tip. Hammer marks from setting ura where there were microbevels, in order to not lose 2mm or so of height. Straightened. Some ura weirdness persists, but the ura looks flat on the flat plate, and it sharpens up and deburrs, so the microbevel on the ura side should be gone. Different scratch marks on the ura side are still visible though. Handle removed, to remove rust on tang, and then tang straightened. Mark on blade face near tip from straighten (smooth jaw steel pliers without padding will mar the face lol, I'll stick with wood). Slightly rounded tip. I bought it specifically for the handful of leftys who asked me about cheap lefty single bevels. . . . They're not very common second hand in Japan, and cheaper ones are in worse condition like this. Edge is great, I accidentally cut myself and pics dmed if desired haha. 400 grit edge and quite painless, moreso than usual. Did a cut test peeling potatoes too, worked well.
