If you don't get any offers here, look to Harukaze and Tsunehisa. Made by the same company. Good knives that offer more performance than standard westerns but don't tread too far into fragility. Haven't had any Harukaze but the few Tsunehisa's I've owned/tried have all been good.

I really don’t see how you could beat a takamura. They really aren’t all that delicate. My wife and I use ours quite a bit and its held up pretty well.
 
If you want a wa-handled laser in ginsan that feels very much like Takamura grind, the hatsukokoro hayabusa 170 at homebutcher is pretty sweet and under $100 if with a code.
