It's made from w1 tool steel. Have not used on any food ingredients. Only on some paper towels and it's sharp and the mirror finish is spot on

I have a narra.
Very nice knife and nice cutter.
F&f is very good and the wood he uses is exquisite.
If I had a bit of money I may be tempted myself.
