This is a hard, Honyama sunashi suita. It's somewhat hard to use for knife polishing. It wants to leave streaks if the slurry and pressure are not perfect. There is no su. As a sharpener it is superb. One of my finest edges.

I am withdrawing this sale. I just tried it with a kanna, and to be quite honest, it was one of the smoothest enjoyable experiences I've had with the stone. I also cannot ignore the fact that it polishes the wrought like a Nakayama, leaving a dark luster. Its going to stay home.
