This is 410 stainless, sandwiched so beautifully over 1.2442 german tungsten steel and stone polished. Workhorse. The surface is free of low spots, but it does have an angle change halfway down the bevel to aid in food release. My take on a hamaguri grind while still being easy to polish. No resurfacing with a diamond plate to remove low spots. Ready for stone or fingerstones out the gate. Thinned, out the gate
63-64RC.

Comes with a saya. Balanced at the pinch. Workhorse!

Beautiful! What's the handle made from?

Stabilized maple burl, a stabilized cherry burl spacer and a desert ironwood ferrul. Titanium spacer. I was looking for some earth tones to be accented with blue 😊

Also thanks guys for the compliments.

Looks really nice with a nice convexed grind! How is the distal taper? Care to do a spine shot?

It has slight distal. I wasnt going for a laser in this case.

Edit:
At spine: 2.65mm
Middle: 2.36mm
End of flat beginning of bevel: 2.28mm
1cm from tip: 1.41mm

Still hasnt moved. Surprised! I dont like hanging onto blades for long. Hard to beat with kasumi and saya.

I have some thoughts on why but I won’t comment unless you wan to hear.

Great looking knife @ a good price too, GLWS

I would love to hear. I'm open to criticism. Though a PM would probably be more appropriate than a sales post. I look forward to your thoughts.

I don't think you'll mind hearing in public that I would have been very interested if it were 50mm longer (and even more with reactive cladding, but that's not as important as a properly-sized knife 😂). Congrats on the sale!

That's fair. I figured there was a size for everyone and havent settled in specific sizes to always make. Most of everything is a one-off.

I'm here to please. I'll keep 250-270mm ranges in mind.

+1 for reactive cladding, even though the stone finish you put on the knife is beautiful.

Guessing more folks on this forum at least prefer non-stainless. Plus, at least from my casual observations here and your website, homemade steel is kind of your thing!
