Hello All,

Here's a first for me, a workhorse in Z-Wear.This is my first time working with this steel. I changed my blade profile up a bit on this one just for the sake of variety. For those of you unfamiliar with this steel it's essentially a CPM version of CruWear, which is more or less a higher carbon version of CPM-3V with a tungsten addition. It's a very tough, high wearing steel with edge retention somewhere in the same range as MagnaCut.

  • Blade: 230mmx50mm Z-Wear(CPM-CruWear) (63hrc) medium scotchbrite belt finish
  • Neck: 18mmx19mm
  • Handle: 128mm, tapering from 23.4mmx22.6mm to 21.5mmx18.8mm, burned oak, oil finished and waxed
  • POB: 55mm from handle
  • Spine: 3.66mm at the neck, 2.78mm at halfway, .82mm 1cm from the tip
  • Grind: flat to convex RH bias
  • Weight: 178 grams
  • Relieved choil and spine
  • Edge: zero, .31mm @2mm, .6mm@5mm, 1.0mm@10mm measured at the midpoint.

Very kool knife! If I wasn’t so strapped atm I’d love to give this a try. Side note - have we tried a US pass around with you work?
