Hi friends
I would like to sell my Watanabe Iron Clad Kurouchi 250x59. I am selling this because I have sort of bought a lot of stuff recently and went over my comfortable budget again. The knife was purchased here on the forum and the original listing is attached below.
Knife was a custom for the previous owner and the bevels have been raised/thinned by Alex Horn. Alex also did the Maple burl handle. It’s a big heavy beast of a knife at 347 grams. I have used the knife quite a bit here and there and sharpened it full progression once. I removed the patina and touched up the edge about a week ago for purpose of selling. The bevels are not perfectly flat so pulling off a perfect stone polish would require some work. I have currently left the knife with a scratchy yet consistent Omura stone finish. I am a left handed cutter and I have noticed the knife steers a little for me so perhaps it’s better off with a righty. It’s certainly possible I put an unfortunate micro bevel on it that I never got around to correcting. There is a small patch of horizontal scratches up on the kurouchi. I did not cause these but just fyi photo attached below. Knife is quite sharp.
