Hello All,

Some time ago a friend of a friend commissioned a twist damascus tanto, and so for efficiency's sake I made up a large enough billet for a few knives. This is the first of 2 suji and 1 petty from that billet. It's simple 27 layer, right hand twist, 15n20 and 1084 damascus, hardened and tempered into the 64-65hrc range. I'll be offering at least 2 of the twist pattern blades I've made as semi-customs, as the nature of damascus lends itself more to aesthetics than pure function. I've left this blade with a lighter etch, but can deepen it to increase the contrast, or even take it back to reduce the drag which damascus is somewhat notorious for.

As with previous semi customs, the handle details are at the creative liberty of the buyer, and in this case, the blade finish. Higher grit, lower grit, more contrast or less, etc.

Attached are pictures of my currently available stabilized woods (note: block #370, and the pink and grey, and pink and blue blocks are no longer available). In unstabilized woods I have oak, maple, cherry, ash, ripple walnut, ripple maple, birdseye maple, bloodwood, purple heart, bocote, peruvian walnut, and african blackwood available.

  • Blade: 285mmx37mm 1084+15n20 Twist Damascus (64-65 HRC) etch+1200 grit finish
  • Neck: 16mmx17mm
  • Handle: ?
  • POB: ?
  • Spine: 3.78mm at the neck, 2.79mm at 15.3cm, .64mm 1cm from the tip
  • Grind: flat to convex, right hand bias
  • Weight: ?
  • Relieved choil and spine
  • Edge: .23mm@1mm, .34mm@2mm, .68mm@5mm, 1.08mm@10mm Measured at the midpoint.
Asking $500 U.S as a base price for just the blade, + $25 U.S for shipping with insurance anywhere in North America. International will be in the ballpark of $50-$75 U.S depending on the area. + $25 for a plain mono domestic wood handle, +$40 for an exotic or figured hardwood, and + $50-$75 for stabilized wood.
