Hello Everyone,

It's been a while since I've made anything with 52100, and considerably longer since I've made a sujihiki, but here we are. I did some in-forum reading on what people seem to value most in a suji, and it came down to a fine edge, a consistent taper, and limited flex, and so I've done my best to meet those criteria on this blade. I left the steel very hard, 65 hrc, to maximize the steel's slicing edge retention. You may, quite understandably have qualms about 52100 this hard, and personally I've never seen a blade in 52100 run at 65hrc, however this chart:

https://i0.wp.com/knifesteelnerds.c.../2021/07/apex-ultra-toughness.jpg?w=760&ssl=1

indicates that even at 65hrc, 52100 is in the order of 4x tougher than blue super at the same hardness, so toughness shouldn't be a issue.
