Any taxes/duties when buying from Australia vendor and shipped to USA?

I'm eyeing a knife from ProTooling.com.au, but have never bought a knife from an Australian website.

Wondering if any forum members in the US have had experience buying a knife from an Australian vendor? Any tax or duty issues when importing the package?

I've bought from K&S AU a few times and AU members as well. No taxes or duties.

You may not get tax issued on the import but California still requires you to pay tax. Use tax | FTB.ca.gov

US customs generally doesn’t charge import taxes until the total value of items and shipping goes over 800 USD. If over that, it sometimes depends on who’s working and paying attention that day if you get charged. But US import taxes are quite minimal when compared to other countries.
